Hailing from the sparsely populated locale of Southern Sweden, Jenny Carlsson (b.1984) renders deserted landscapes as inspired by her hometown’s natural surroundings. She transfers her memories to our retina through works of layered paint and expressive brush strokes. Torpid woodlands, swamps, and roots take center stage in Carlsson’s abstract depictions of nature.
